Windy day in the Lowcountry

A strong wedge of high pressure building down from the northeast is interacting with the front that set our temperatures back to March normals; the resulting pressure gradient is making for some incredibly gusty winds tonight, with gusts up to 68 MPH (!!!) on the Ravenel Bridge. Some more gusts:

  • 47 MPH at the Isle of Palms pier
  • 41 MPH on the Don Holt Bridge
  • 40 MPH at Folly Beach & the Charleston Executive Airport on Johns Island
